At 7:45 a.m. on Thursday, China began military exercises south and east of Taiwan, north of Taiwan and in the Taiwan Strait. The exercise is being conducted by the Army's Eastern Theater Command. On the other hand, the Chinese army also conducted exercises around Taiwan's Ukiyu, Matsu, Kinmen and Dongying islands.

Local time last Monday (Bangladesh time) Taiwan's new president Lai Ching was sworn in. Just three days later China showed their own strength. After the swearing-in, Lai Ching-te called on Beijing to stop the "military drills". But as always, China has been claiming Taiwan as its own territory.
